Are you burning fat or burning muscle when you exercise?

Do you know that you might have gone to the gym, spent like 3hours exercising, not knowing that you were actually burning muscle instead of fat? When what you should actually be doing is to burn fat and gain muscles, because each extra pound of muscle you have burns 13calories a day.
An important factor that would help you burn fat and not burn muscle would be combining both anaerobic and aerobic exercise!
This would include your strength training, i.e. Weight lifting as usual, and some form of aerobic exercise which is your cardio. To ensure you don't start burning muscle, I always advice that you do nothing more than 30mins of cardiovascular exercise per cycle. You could do 30mins in the morning, and 30mins in the evening. By cardio I mean your jogging, treadmill, walks, running etc. During cardio, the body usually goes into the fat stored in the body to get energy for the activity.
When you do an excess of cardio, the body begins to also burn your muscle as well as burning fat.

another important aspect is eating enough protein. I personally love and believe in low carb diets and high protein intake. Beans, is a favorite food of mine. Proteins are the building blocks of muscle.. Besides, foods that are high in protein are also known as fat burning food, in that the body also uses up energy when trying to digest them. Also add lots of fish into your diet.
When you put all these to practice, you would see the results!!!Bookmark this site, so you could always come back for more!
