Low carb diets!

You have probably heard times without number, about the whole low carb diet thing. In my earlier write ups, I indicated that for Nigerians, avoiding foods like fufu, akpu, eba, rice, tuwo shinkafa and the likes would help you achieve your weight loss goals easier.
Now, before I break it down word for word, let me give you the full low down on carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are majorly of plant origin. When you consume carbohydrates, the body converts this carbohydrates to simple sugar, i.e. Monosaccarides. These Monosaccarides are transported to the liver. When they get to the liver, they are converted to glucose. For this glucose to be utilized, it is converted to ATP. THE ATP is stored in the liver and in the muscles, and is eventually converted to fatty acids. The fatty acids are converted to triglycerides, which in simple terms is called fat!
Since its a low calorie diet and calorie deficit that causes weight loss, then why should we Nigerian chics avoid carbs when trying to lose weight?
A low intake of carbs actually starves your body of immediate energy thus making it go into your fat stores once it needs energy to perform.
For those who need flat abs, please please please avoid fufu, akpu and eba. No more bread! Please stay away from bread.
