A Trip To Jollibee Queens, New York

This is the first sight upon approaching the store. OMG, it's PILA!!!!! Not bad we said. We gotta go.. we are here. No turning back! I took this photo while inside the vehicle still looking for a parking spot.

Jollibee is outside the store to greet you. My daughter was scared to give him a hug. She already saw Jollibee in the Philippines two years ago but I don't think she remembered it.

This is inside the store. There are a lot of empty chairs because they are reserved for people who are still at the counter placing their orders...all probably hungry already.

Finally, I got closer to the counter that I was able to take some photos of the menu.

HHmmm...the yumburger. Partly you can see the burger steak. That's what I had. You have a choice between two or three burger steaks.

The miss ko na chicken joy. What was so funny because from the counter you can see how many more minutes left before the chicken gets cook. When it was like 20 seconds left, the customers starts the count down and some crew would start clapping their tongs. Then, in a few seconds the chicken are gone again.

This is what we had for take out. A bucket of chicken joy (6 pcs for $13.39 plus tax) and the rest are leftovers, rice and gravy.

Are we going back there? No, if only to eat but if somebody who is naglilihi or who have not eaten at Jollibee for 10 years or more and does not know how to go to Queens, probably yes to accompany him or her but she pays for the toll which is around $15 (lol). The gas is on me as long as it stays at $1.75.

It is not because i don't like jollibee anymore but to go there is a pain in the A--. It starts with the pila from outside, luckily it took us only around 30 minutes and it was not cold at that time. Some people came all the way from Virginia and Atlantic City just to eat at Jollibee. They traveled almost 5 to 6 hours just to have a taste of the chicken joy. It was around 5pm when we were there and they have to drive back that night too. Whew! I would not do that! There was another pinay, i guess she lives in the city because it seems that she took the subway. She was on the phone while in line. We just heard her saying, " Ang haba ng pila! Pag-umuwi ako, dadalhin ko nalang ang anak mo at araw-araw ko dadalhin sa Jollibee!!!" When she hung up, she told us "alis na ako dito, bahala siya, di ako pipila ng ganito ka haba!" then she left nga!

So we stayed, once you get inside there is another pila at the counter. Ito ang matindi...almost 1 hour na naman! What is taking so long is the chicken joy. Once the chicken are cooked, they are not enough for the orders waiting. They were even asking for orders which does not include chicken to step front so that they don't have to wait but nobody went because everybody wants that chicken joy!

Once you have your food, be prepared for the elbow to elbow sitting arrangement. The store is small to accomodate all the patrons. And, if you have a car, be lucky to get a parking spot on the side streets right away. We parked about 2 blocks away. If you take the subway you are fine. The store is right under the subway. You can see the train above your head from the pila outside.

Overall, I miss Jollibee but I could wait for Philippines or california or maybe when they put up one in Jersey.

For blog purposes, here was our order:

2 pcs burger steak - $4.19
Yum cheese - $1.89
#4 Combo Palabok - $7.49
