Health Tip #48: Read the book "Body Signs" to learn how to detect warning signs of serious conditions with help from your senses

I came across this website of a book namned Body Signs, which is about how you can learn to use your five senses to detect warning signs of serious conditions and get medical help before they become full-blown diseases.

It tells you that by just looking, listening, smelling, tasting and/or touching your own body you can spot "dangerous" changes.

An example written in the book is about your hair. If it looks like it's thinning (and you're a woman) you may have female-pattern baldness, which often runs in families. But it can also be an early warning sign of diabetes which needs to be checked up at the hospital.

There's lots of interesting tips like this that can be found in this book that is written by Joan Liebmann-Smith (which has appeared on Oprah) and Jacqueline Nardi Egan.
